Plastic Foot Valves FAQs

What is a Foot Valve?

A foot valve is a type of check valve that only allows one-way flow. You can use foot valves when you have situations that need a pump, such as when water needs to be extracted from an underground well. Foot valves are ideal for use in pools, ponds, and wells. Their typical materials include PVC, plastic, bronze, cast iron, and stainless steel.

PVC Foot Valves Advantages

These foot valves prevent damage to water pumps that can occur due to dry runs, as well as stop wastage of energy.

Without these foot valves, the water would flow down through the pipe, back to its original source when the pump is shut off.

The internal balls ensure quick sealing and valve reaction as well as the flexibility to fit various types of water pump uses.

They are cheaper to use, as compared to other valves used to prime a pump.

Good quality foot valves help extend the overall lifespan of water pumps.

They are cost-effective and lightweight.

Pipe Fittings

Pipe fittings is a part that connects the pipe into a line, which can be divided into four categories according to the connection method:  butt-welding fittings, threaded fittings, and socket fittings. Usually, pipes and fittings are made of the same material as tubes. There are reducer, elbow, cap, return, tee, cross, and so on. Elbows are used where pipes turn.  Caps are used at the end of the tube. Tees are used in places where three tubes are assembled. Cross is used where four tubes are assembled. Reducers are used where two tubes of different diameters are connected.

Types of Pipe Fittings

Carbon Steel Buttweld Fittings

Stainless Steel Buttweld Fittings

Nipple Pipe Fittings

Forged Steel Pipe Fittings

Stainless Steel Fittings 150lbs

Ductile Iron Grooved Couplings & Fittings

Rubber Expansion Joints

Dismantling Joints

Types of Commonly Used Pip Fittings:

Buttweld fittings

Threaded fittings

Socket weld fittings

Forged fittings

Pipe Fittings Applications and Relative Fittings

01

To connect one tube to another:  socket, nipple, etc.

02

To change the direction of the pipe fittings: elbow, return, etc.

03

To change the pipe diameter on the pipe line:  reducer, etc.

04

To increase the pipe branches of the pipe line:  tee, cross, etc.

05

To make an end of the pipeline: plug, cap, etc.

06

To fix pipes:  coupling, hanger, etc.

Plastic Flange

Normal materials of plastic flange include PVC and PP, etc. Compared with steel flange, the plastic flange is smooth, lightweight, antioxidant, corrosion prevention and erosion resistance, widely used in chemical, electronics, metallurgy, plastic, electroplating, irrigation, sewage treatment, circulating water engineering, aquatic products aquaculture, civil construction, and other industries

Plastic Flange VS Metal Flange

1. Standard (Similarity):

Both plastic & metal are flange's materials. Both metal flanges & steel flanges can be ANSI/ASME, DIN, BS, JIS, UNI & EN 1092-1 standard.

2. Design Pressure (Similarity)

Plastic flange pressure only can be 10kgs.

Metal flange pressure can be PN6/PN10/PN16/PN25,150LBS/300LBS/400LBS/600LBS

3. Type & Facing (Similarity):

Type: Blind, Socket

Facing: FF

4. Installation (Similarity and Difference):

Plastic flanges are chemically stable, do not rust and economic, they are suitable for underground irrigation and household pipe connections.

Although the material of them are different, they are bolted to the pipe

Plastic Flange FAQs

How Many Types of Flanges Are There?

To connect diferent pipes and valves to achieve different functions, there are 6 types of common flanges as below:

Weldneck flange

Threaded Flanges

Socket-Weld Flanges

Slip-On Flanges

Lap Joint Flanges

Blind Flanges

Nipple Pipe Socket Advantages

It is convenient to get the material. Nipple Pipe Socket are made from the pipe which is easy to get.

Easy to install, just screw in.

Nipple & socket's length can be customized according to customer requirements

Nipple socket's production process is not competitive, manufacture cost is not high, it is cost-effective.

Nipple Pipe Socket Manufacturing Process

The technological process of manufacturing steel pipe fittings and nipple sockets is simple. Firstly purchase the manufacturing material pipe, then we need to inspect the pipe material quality, thirdly the raw material needs to be automatically cut off as per standard or client's requirement, Forth threads tapping, and stamping, Last but not least inspection the Nipple Pipe Sockets.
